Fine art studio near Croton Falls opens its doors to the public Saturday, Nov. 21
BREWSTER, N.Y., Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fallsview Arts, a fine art teaching studio in the historic Juengst factory complex near Croton Falls, will mark its first year on Saturday, Nov. 21, with a Grand Opening Exhibition and public open house from 1 to 4 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m.
The exhibition presents new work by founder Sarah Miller Totten, the studio's teaching artists, and painters and sculptors from the surrounding community. The open house is free and open to the public. Food will be served, a photo booth will be set up, and every guest will have the chance to add something of their own before the day is over.
Totten, an artist and educator who has taught students across Westchester and Putnam counties for more than 15 years, opened Fallsview Arts in November 2025. The studio teaches painting, drawing, sculpture, digital arts, mixed media and portraiture to children, teens and adults, from first-time students to working artists. Its program also includes private lessons, mentorship, portfolio development, open model sessions and workshops led by visiting artists.
"Westchester and Putnam counties have both been home to me for quite some time, and I wanted a space where my teaching, art and ideas could take root," Totten said. "The foundational goal has always been the same: teach people to draw and paint well, and help them use those skills to explore, flourish and say something of their own. This first year at Fallsview Arts belongs to the community of students and artists who walked through the door and made the place what it is. I am grateful to everyone who has helped bring this studio to life, and to my family, mentors, friends and fellow artists for their support throughout the years. I am excited to see what the future holds."
The studio occupies restored space in a former mill building, with original architectural details that serve as a setting for classes, exhibitions and gatherings. It is located in the Town of Southeast (Brewster), less than a mile from the Croton Falls Metro-North station, with easy access from Route 22 and the Croton Falls/Hardscrabble Road, North Salem exit of I-684. Students travel from Westchester, Putnam, and across the Hudson Valley and CT.
The public is invited to attend. RSVP at https://www.fallsviewarts.com/rsvp-guests. For information on classes and programs, visit fallsviewarts.com or call 845-276-0849.
