Utah-based roofing contractor continued its monthly community outreach program in April, working with GAF and SRS Distribution to deliver classroom supplies to local schools.

Through its monthly BigHorn Gives Back program, the company continued that mission in April by partnering with GAF and SRS Distribution to deliver classroom supplies and direct support to three local elementary schools. The April effort focused on helping teachers finish the school year with the materials they need, while easing some of the personal financial burden many educators carry.

As part of the drive, the BigHorn team made three stops to talk with and deliver classroom supplies to teachers at Sandy Elementary in Sandy, Juniper Elementary in Herriman, and Oakridge Elementary in Salt Lake City.
“Teachers are doing some of the most important work in our community, and many of them are doing it on their own dime,” said Bryce Rose, President of BigHorn Roofing. “Sitting down with school teachers and administrators reminded our whole team why this support is so important. We’re grateful to GAF and SRS Distribution for stepping up alongside us so we could expand the reach of our roofing company into more communities.”
To help bring this effort to life, BigHorn Roofing partnered with GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and SRS Distribution, one of the nation’s leading building products distributors. By working together, the three organizations were able to source the majority of items on each school’s supply list. The collaboration allowed BigHorn Roofing to deliver more resources to more classrooms than would have been possible on its own.
April was a natural time for the initiative. It is a time when many classrooms are running low on basic supplies, and teachers often use their own money to keep them stocked. BigHorn’s supply drive was created to help close that gap. The deliveries included classroom supplies such as markers, crayons, printer paper, notebooks, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and tissues, as well as snacks for students and staff and classroom games.
